The Custom Process
From first conversation to installed surface, here's how we take your project from idea to reality.
Consultation
Tell us about your project: dimensions, use case, aesthetic goals. We'll ask the right questions to scope it perfectly.
Template Creation
On-site, a 3D scanner captures your exact deck geometry, every hatch, console, and contour. No scanner access? We can also work from your measurements or photos.
Design Mockup
You'll receive a visual mockup showing layout, colors, textures, and any custom inlays before we cut.
Production
Our American-built ShopSabre CNC router cuts your design from premium closed-cell EVA foam to a tolerance under 0.25mm.
Quality Check
Every piece is inspected for fit, finish, and adhesive quality before packaging.
Delivery & Support
Shipped with 3M adhesive backing and detailed installation instructions. We're here if you need guidance.

Custom Decking FAQ
Yes. DeckTek custom boat flooring is made to order for any boat make and model, including center consoles, bay boats, bass boats, skiffs, jon boats, pontoons, cruisers, and one-off custom builds, as well as jet skis, PWC, kayaks, SUPs, and vehicles. Each part is digitally templated to your exact surface and CNC-cut to a tolerance under 0.25mm, so you never end up with a generic kit forced to fit.
We build a precise digital template from your measurements, photos, or an on-site capture of your boat or vehicle. You then approve a visual mockup showing piece layout, colors, textures, and inlays before anything is cut. Approved designs are CNC-routed and inspected for fit before shipping with 3M adhesive backing and install instructions.
Yes. Custom DeckTek surfaces support multi-color inlays, routed or embossed logos, dual-tone schemes, multiple textures (diamond, brushed, hexagon, faux-teak), and full color matching. Logos and graphics are routed into the foam rather than printed on top, so they wear with the surface instead of off it. Every inlay is positioned in the digital template and locked in at mockup approval before production.
Yes. DeckTek scales from a single project to full production. OEM and boat builders get per-model production templates, volume pricing, and direct-to-line shipping. Marine dealers get a dealer pricing program, training, a sample kit, and drop-ship fulfillment. Commercial and fleet customers get commercial-grade materials, volume discounts, standardized templates, and warranty programs.
No. There is no minimum order for one-off custom work. A single classic-boat restoration, a custom vehicle build, or a unique surface no one has measured before all get the same treatment: we'll template and cut it. One-off projects include design consultation, rapid prototyping, and multi-color and logo inlays.
Trim-to-fit and DIY foam kits rely on field cutting with a knife, which tends to leave uneven seams and edges prone to peeling. A DeckTek part is cut from a digital template of your exact surface, producing tight seams, true edges, and corners that stay put. It also installs faster, since there's no on-site measuring or trimming required.
DeckTek is made from UV-stabilized, closed-cell EVA foam, manufactured in the USA. Closed-cell EVA is non-absorbent, so it won't soak up water or hold odor, it stays grippy when wet, and it runs cooler underfoot than dark gelcoat or ordinary marine carpet. Each kit is bonded with genuine 3M marine adhesive rated for salt, sun, and constant flexing.
Most custom projects move from approved template to shipped kit within a few weeks, depending on size and complexity, and we confirm lead time at quoting. To start, request a free custom quote with your boat or vehicle details and our team will spec a precision-cut solution, typically within 24 hours.
