EVA Decking System FAQ
DeckTek EVA decking is made from UV-stabilized, closed-cell EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) foam. Closed-cell means it's non-absorbent, so it won't soak up water, harbor mildew, or stain. The pigments are rated to resist fading through 2,000+ hours of direct sun, and every piece is backed with genuine 3M marine adhesive for a gelcoat-safe bond.
It runs noticeably cooler underfoot than teak, vinyl, or dark gelcoat. Closed-cell foam doesn't conduct or store heat the way hard surfaces do, and lighter DeckTek colors stay cooler still. It's one of the most comfortable barefoot surfaces you can stand on during a full day on the water.
Stock sheets are trimmed to fit by hand. DeckTek is digitally templated to your exact hull or vehicle and CNC-routed to a sub-0.25mm tolerance, so every cup holder, hatch, and contour is accounted for before cutting. That precise fit is what makes the result look factory and keeps edges from lifting over time.
DeckTek comes in 6mm standard and 9mm extra-thick for high-traffic step and boarding zones. Traction textures include diamond and brushed patterns, plus custom options. You can also add multi-color inlays, dual-tone layouts, and logo embossing to any line.
